retail banking design

As with any retail design the retail space is an extension of the brand itself. An assessment of the brand and its competitors are important in keeping on trend and staying relevant in the market. More importantly the clients aspirations as well as understanding the users (bankers) and the customers is paramount in creating a successful retail space. By understanding how the space will be used we can design a place that is both eye catching and functional using appropriate signage, merchandising, communication, and branded elements to enhance the interior and exteriors of the branch and create a fully branded environment with a cohesive narrative that can be deployed throughout their network.

Santander US Conversion

A global bank, Santander needed a conversion strategy after acquiring a north eastern US bank, Sovereign Bank. Research and development started with an analysis of existing kit-of-parts from both the US and Santander’s global standards as well as understanding the clients’ vision for their company, employees, and target market. By working with both the US retail team as well as Santander’s global team from South America and Spain a brand strategy, merchandising strategy, kit-of-parts, and branch playbook was created.

MB Financial Bank

A retail bank that with large focus on small businesses in the Chicagoland area, MB Financial Bank felt their existing network was disjointed because of recent acquisitions and mergers. MB Financial Bank needed a new brand image that was carried throughout their network in their interiors, exteriors, merchandising, and digital content. By defining their new  business strategy, a new playbook for the employees was created along with supplemental branding, merchandising, and communication kit of parts. A tiered system of the various branches were created based on location and average monthly revenue.

Trustmark : Fondren

Trustmark needed a flagship design that could be translated throughout their network of branches. Their Fondren location was to be a new build location and the perfect branch to implement their new retail banking model based on the diverse neighborhood demographic. Creating a streamlined brand interior with new meeting environments within the branch made for a modern look and feel. Changing the interior color palette created a modern yet warm space that would not intimidate existing customers but also be eye catching enough for new business ventures.
